Chose Life!

The sole purpose that I was sent to Hartfort was to train an applications engineer and to do technology transfer. Tech transfer is still not complete but the team has done all we could. Extracting the files were halfway completed but there were no personnel to help us duplicate them before we sent them onwards as shipment to Malaysia. The rest is out of our hands and they are the responsibility of the upper management here; who were not showing much support to helping us accomplish the tasks.

When we came to Hartfort, the company was lacking in AEs; obviously, because the AEs in Harrisonburg refused to move up north. Hence, the people that were sent to train the new personnel became the personnel themselves *sic*. We were kept VERY busy for the whole two months we were here. Not even having time to sort the files (purpose of visit #2). We have only a pair of hands and one head unfortunately. Some people seem to think that we are invincible. Well, sorry to dissapoint you guys.. We’re only human.

Recently, early this month; I had two weeks of elevated status… Week 1, I was teaching a kwai low Basic Refrigeration Systems 101. He passed with flying colours; considering he has never come across the terms TXVs and subcooling before.

Everything he needs to know on designing and using our software came later on week 2 of Crash Course 201. However, my well planned training was abruptly cut short, as he was due for training in Malaysia next Tuesday. He will be flying on Tuesday night, arriving on Thursday and reporting to work probably on Friday the next week; that is.. If he can get over the massive jetlag in one day. When I came over here; it took me one week to feel okay during the afternoons.

So there ends my elevated status of teacher. Teacher for 2 weeks..  I tried my best to unload all my info to him but with such a short time of 2 weeks, there was only so much I could do. All I could do now is pray that he could pick up much more in Malaysia and prepare himself for massive onslaught when he comes back. Coz that’s when I will be flying home. Home sweet home!! Ahhhhhh…
