Sour Birthday

Friday, December 30th, 2005

A piece of advice for everyone : If u do not have a strong stomach; dont eat tau fu fah.

After eating the said bowl on Thurs nite, i had a painful trip to toilet.. Then on Fri; my birthday, I vomited.. It seems like it wasnt just me; there’s Lau and Sin Hui also.. But Lau just went to toilet a few times (didnt puke) and Sin Hui felt bloated.. Hence, tat trip to pasar malam was a trip to remember for us. =P

Anyway, Sin Hui was so nice to organise a dinner in conjuction wif my b’day. What started out as a small group of 5 became 17 as the word got around. As I had food poisoning; all 17 of us were forced to abandon plans of a picturesque dinner beside the fountain in Alamanda and opted instead for nice Chinese "tai chow" where we can order smtg tat agreed wif my stomach.

Halfway thru dinner; I was overcomed by sharp pain and had to leave early.. Sigh….

So I bid farewell to my dear frens and colleagues (Sin Hui, Wan Kit, Welchard, Ken, Edwin, Jason, Eugene, PK, Heng, Lau, CK, Yan Wen, Won, YJ, Tan and Chin) and spend the rest of the nite groaning on bed; wif occasional trips to the toilet. Some memorable birthday, huh?

Lessons in Life

Lesson 1: Appreciate your time here on Earth

Life.. What is it? Why so many clig to it? Why many gamble it away? Today my mom and I witnessed many who are fighting for their lives, anxious to preserve it. In our sorrow, we’ve also witnessed a few who were taking risks and throwing it away by reckless driving. In doing so, these ppl care not about their lives but the lives of others who were trying to preserve it. God gave us life, He breathed into us and made us live. What right have we to take away our life or even others’? What time He has given us here is borrowed.. We must make full use of it before we die and meet our Maker and get our "preformance review".. By then, perhaps, it’s too late?

Lesson 2: Never grow fond of your presents

I’ve been hunting almost everywhere for a certain tract from the Vienna Boy’s Choir. It had been my Christmas gift to my friend who is currently working far far away. Last time when he was staying near me, I used to play the tract over and over again during Christmas coz I loved it so much.. *grins* Then, he got a job far away and I have not seen him nor tat gift since then.. *sigh* Hmm, but I never do learn my lesson.. I still give ppl pressies tat I love.

Lesson 3: Express yourself!

I miss my ちち and はは and おとと.. Its a silent night tonite as my ちち is away at camp and はは は びょいん で ゆっくり やすみます. My おとと is in college. Sigh.. ひとり で wrap presents.. Before I left my はは, I gave her a peck on the cheeck, a tight hug and an "I love u". Arghhhh… miss my はは. Also, before my ちち left for camp, I gave him a bear hug and a peck too.. *grins* but my おとと would never allow me to peck him =P.. Macho man.. Life is short, ppl u love may not know how much u love them (coz we never have enuf time anyway), I prefer to make full use of my opportunities and show them. =)

Teen Street (Uncomplete)

Sunday, December 11th, 2005

I’ve just had a life-changing experience this month.. Teenstreet was as great as can be!! Even though I went there as a coach, I too get to experience God in many ways. This is my story :

3rd Dec - Cant sleep the night before, woke up wif a slight bit of headache as i was excited to lead my teens to camp. Reached church about 10.35am.. Hehe, was slightly late but most of them were already there. Some excited, some not so excited. We all bundled into the church van wif dear Sing Hwa as the driver.. Heheh, supposed to reach Sbg at 12pm, but we were late coz we took the wrong turning and ended up going round Sbg twice *sweat*! It was great of Ken to wait for us coz I was near panicking that the bus might leave for teenstreet without us. So, we reached STM w/o any further surprises.. The registration was a puzzling affair as we need to climb over and go over stuff like brambles and bamboo. It was only a taste of wat we will go thru the whole week!!Coaches briefing was on as soon as we arrived so I’ve to rush to the meeting, leaving my sheep to tend for themselves for awhile. Our first session, Dan and Suzie was hilarious as usual for Wild Kingdom. We sat at the third row and was lucky enough to be picked for many activities.. I can c my gals were quite shy.

Rimg1079 4th Dec - New morning! It was an unfortunate thing that Eilene and Shirley cant join us, else, Shirley wd be sleeping wif Jin Sean and me in our room.. Its really big! Can fit in 4 ppl! Eilene would be wif Rachel. Pearly was wif Eden in the third room. We had our second Wild Kingdom and TnT race today. Hot blistering sun and wild wacky costumes. Our fav was Josiah, the balloon boy! Our costume (more like crowns) were not very innovative, compared to those who had dynamite boxes and bathrobes, shower caps and clogs! Dexter’s gp even made w.c. out of manila cardboard! Hmmm, next year we CMHC will dress up more *winks*! That nite, our Throne Room time was ROCKED by City Harvest! It was a joyful leapping time tat everyone rocked to!

5th Dec - We talked about our walk today.. How we r supposed to live our lives so tat God is pleased wif us.. Its hard most of the time to walk alone.. Tat’s why we need our nets; friends who support us. When we r weak, they help to strengthen us; carry us; encourage us and remind us of our main objective of pleasing God. Here’s my net :
